Perennials, ± caespitose, 10-30 cm, glabrous except for the leaf margins, viscid above. Basal leaves oblanceolate to linear, up to 5 cm. Cauline leaves much reduced, linear. Inflorescence a strict raceme, the lower flowers usually contiguous and overlapping. Calyx 5-9 mm, glabrous. Petals whitish, emarginate. Filaments hairy. Anthophore 1.5-4 mm. Capsule 4-7 mm, usually slightly exserted from the calyx. Fl. 5-8. Rocky slopes, 400-2200 m.
Endemic; very similar to S. lasiantha and S. capitellata.
