For the second straight year, Danville’s January First Fridays FIRE AND ICE event at the David S Palmer Arena brought families for ice skating and much more. Mark from Danville was there with his two sons.

Danville’s Community Relations Coordinator Rheanna Ollis and Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr both stated that expanding the hours and activities at this year’s FIRE AND ICE were certainly successes.
AUDIO: (Rheanna Ollis) We definitely have a steady flow of people. It seems to have helped spread out the line a little bit; extending it those two hours. The snowball fight seems to be a blast. Honestly, everybody’s been having fun; it’s been going really well.
