FirstRate5®, Victoria's leading residential thermal performance assessment software, has recently undergone some big changes.
With the release of version 5.1.10 FirstRate5 has moved from being a fully desktop based software to one with its own dedicated website, where certificates are generated online for a fee.
This video will help you to:
-Set up an account
-Purchase credits and
-Generate a certificate
To start using the new software, simply register for a FirstRate5 Account, enter your Assessor Accrediting Organization details, and download and install the latest version to your desktop.
Import your building plan as before and use the software to model your project.
A diagnostic report will be produced, indicating the progress of your modelling.
When you’re satisfied with your rating, upload the project file to the FirstRate5 website by logging on via your web browser and selecting Upload File.
Navigate to your files or simply drag and drop them into your browser.
Once the file is uploaded, the website produces a Preview Certificate with your project’s star rating.
Please note the Preview Certificate is not a compliance certificate.
The compliance certificate now features a Quick Response or QR Code so you can easily verify the certificate along with the NatHERS and FirstRate5 logos
To issue the final certificate, within your FirstRate5 online account, you will first need to buy credits.
Using your preferred payment method.
From 1 May 2014:
$20 for New Homes
$10 for existing homes and
$10 for alterations and additions.
On completion, a tax invoice will be emailed and your credit balance will be updated online.
Credits will be valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, so only buy as many credits as you can use during this time. When credits are used the oldest is automatically used first.
Next, simply select your uploaded file and click Produce Certificate.
The compliance certificate and a new mini certificate will be automatically emailed to you.
Mini certificates carry your project’s unique QR code and they can be easily applied to your project’s drawing set, linking them to the certificate.
If you choose not to produce a certificate from an uploaded file it will automatically be deleted after 90 days.
