Pseudocampylium radicale (P. Beauv.) Vanderp. & Hedenäs

Family: Amblystegiaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Campylium radicale (P. Beauvois) Grout
Hypnum radicale P. Beauvois

Pseudocampylium radicale is somewhat similar to Amblystegium serpens, but the longer leaves of P. radicale are more acuminate, widely spreading and channeled at least when dry. P. radicale, though not a robust species, is generally larger than A. serpens. The leaves of P. radicale are also more decurrent on the stem.

Many thanks to the University of Colorado Herbarium (COLO), Erin Tripp & Dina Clark for loaning us this specimen for photography.
