Camila (she/her) is a former toronto-resident, who’s come to love living in Calgary after migrating 10+ years ago. Not long after moving to Calgary her first exposure to spoken word was in Jr. High, when a teacher played a Youtube video of spoken word during class.
Since then, she’s wrote poems throughout her teen years and 20s. Her work draws attention to one’s bodily experience in key moments, while tying intuition together to create an empathic feel in her poetry.
Camila has been a past performer for the Alcove Centre of Arts, a guest performer at the People’s Poetry Festival and the winner of the PhiDrillSim’s Canada Peace Show. Under a different pen name, she’s an upcoming author of the chapbook, “the night my heart broke into several poems”.
