Purpose This study is to compare proliposomes and protransferosomes in delivery of hydrophobic drug, Beclametasone dipropionate (BDP), to twin stage impinger, an in vitro lung model. Aeroneb Pro, a vibrating mesh nebuliser was used for this purpose. This is also to study the efficiency of novel 'ultradeformable vesicles' as compared to liposomes. Methods Proliposomes and protransferosomes were hydrated using Deuterium oxide to form liposomal and ultradeformable vesicular dispersion respectively. Centrifugation was employed to separate entrapped and unentrapped BDP and entrapment was determined using HPLC. Liposomes and ultra-deformable vesicles were re-dispersed using fresh isotonic water and nebulised using Aeroneb Pro nebuliser. Twin stage impinger was used as an in vitro lung model. Aerosols produced from nebuliser were directed towards the mouth of twin stage impinger. Delivery of BDP in two stages of impinger was determined using HPLC. Results Entrapment efficiency (EE)...

During the 21st century, library and information scholars have set out to theorize the role of public libraries as public spheres. Most of this research is engaging with Habermas’ early work on the structural transformation of the public sphere. Even though Habermas has continued to develop his theories on the public sphere and deliberative democracy throughout his carrier, library and information scholars have to a limited degree engaged with his more recent work. Simply relying on Habermas’s early work when theorizing public libraries as public spheres is limiting, but in addition to getting up to speed on Habermas’ theoretical development, library and information scholars should also familiarize themselves with a broader set of public sphere theories. In this paper, I will give a short presentation of Habermas’ work of relevance for public libraries, I will give a short presentation of some additional theories of public spheres, and I will present key concepts in studies of publi...

This document is an incremental update of deliverable D5.2 [1] and details the specification of the tools and technologies used to model Public Policies (PPs) as well as the design of the policy development toolkit (including the visualization framework), and the mechanisms required for compilation of policy collections to perform cross-sector analysis. The purpose of this series of deliverables is to keep track of the specifications throughout the project and update them as the project progresses. This deliverable has been released in M20 (August 2021) of the project, and its main objective is to describe the approach to the policy modelling and validation that will support policy makers in the design, evaluation, optimization and adaptation of policies. The Policy Development Toolkit (PDT), along with the Policy Model Editor (PME), constitute the front-end of the PolicyCLOUD platform, which allows policy makers to create, update and validate policies. The PDT backend, which hides ...
