ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of the megadiverse country that harbors the majority of Earth's species and
high numbers of endemic species. Actually, Indonesia is home of 4,724 species of fishes, marine and
freshwaterfishes, representing 14.10% of the world’s ichthyodiversity. In the present study we documented
the Indonesia’s freshwaterfishes comprise of 21 Orders, 85 Families, 301 Genera and 1,240 species.
Cyprinidae, Gobiidae and Osphronemidae are the three top of the most specious families consisting of 246,
129 and 82 species respectively. Interestingly, Rasbora (56 species), Melanotaenia (53 species) and Betta
(52 species) are the three top specious genera. Indonesia’s freshwaterfishes (native and non-native species)
include all obligates and diadrome forms. This special poster is important tool for academes, researchers,
government and NGOs having interest in documenting and managing ichthyofauna. We express our
gratitude to the online species references which kindly provided an excellent compilation species data for the
country. Logo of these institutions are showed on the foot pages.
