The data about the representatives of the genus Cercidospora in Ukraine, their description, ecology and distribution in Ukraine are provided. This genus characterized by a greenish-blue to brown walls pseudothecia and hyaline ascospores. Two species of the genus are first time reported for Ukraine. Cercidospora lobothalliae Nav.–Ros. & Calat. which characterized by 0–septate ascospores and grows on thallus Lobothallia radiosa (Hoffm.) Hafellner and Cercidospora solearispora Calat., Nav.–Ros. & Hafellner which characterized by 1–septate ascospores whose upper cell is much more than the lower cell and the grows on thallus epilithic species of Aspicilia s.l. are a new species for the mycobiota of Ukraine. A key to the species of the genus Cercospora in Ukraine, including species which can be found in Ukraine.
This research was focused on distribution of Amphipoda in Kharkiv region. The list of Amphipoda species of Kharkiv region was composed. It includes species that belong to 5 genera of 2 families: Synurella ambulans (F. Muller, 1846), Gammarus pulex (Linnaeus, 1758), Gammarus lacustris (Sars, 1863), Pontogammarus robustroides (Sars, 1895) Pontogammarus obesus (Sars, 1896 ), Gmelina pusilla (Sars, 1896) and Corophium curvispinum (Sars, 1895). G. pusilla was registered in Kharkiv Region for the first time. The identification key for Amphipoda of Kharkov region was performed

This research was focused on distribution of the Calanoida species in the Kharkiv Region. Three species were found in the Kharkiv Region for the first time: Eucyclops macruroides (Lilljeborg, 1901), Eucyclops serrulatus (Fisher, 1851) and Mirocyclops rubellus (Lilljeborg, 1901). We did not register the species as follows: Cyclops incidulus (Claus, 1857), Criptocyclops bicolor (Sars, 1863), Cyclops lucidulus (Koch, 1836), Cyclops pulchellus (Koch, 1836), Diacyclops bisetosus Rehberg, 1880, Diacyclops crassicaudis (Sars, 1863), Diacyclops languidus (Sars, 1863), Leptocyclops agilis (Koch, 1836), Leptocyclops lilljeborgi (Sars, 1863), Leptocyclops speratus (Lilljeborg, 1901), Megacyclops viridis Jurine, 1820, Mesocyclops gracilis (Lilljeborg, 1901), Metacyclops gracilis (Lilljeborg, 1853), Microcyclops varicans (Sars, 1863), Platycyclops affinis (Sars, 1863), Platycyclops timbriatus (Fischer, 1851), Macrocyclops fusus (Jurine, 1820) and Eucyclops macrurus (Sars, 1863) in the Kharkiv Region since the first record by G. F. Fadejev in 1929

SPECIES COMPOSITION AND EPIZOOTOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF INTESTINAL NEMATODOSES OF HORSES OF THE EASTERN REGION OF UKRAINE2020 •
Introduction. Horse breeding is one of the important livestock industries of Ukraine's agro-industrial complex. Horses are keeping for participating in sports competitions, used for hippotherapy and for work purposes. Parasitic diseases of horses lead to reduced performance, loss of breeding qualities, and a high degree of infestation, may cause the death of horses, especially young animals. The goal of the work – to study the species composition and some epizootological aspects of intestinal nematodoses of horses of the Eastern region of Ukraine. Materials and methods. In 2015–2019 individual samples of faeces of 386 horses aged from 6 months to 26 years from six private equestrian farms of the Kharkiv region Ukraine. Experimental animals were kept in a stable, received a balanced diet, deworming was carried out quarterly, regularly participated in national and international equestrian competitions. Samples of faeces have investigated by the standard flotation method using saturated solution of sodium chloride with the establishment of extensity of invasion and intensity of invasion (EI, II) in the scientific laboratory of the Parasitology Department of Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy. Identification of helminth eggs was carried out using the atlases Cherepanova A.A., Thienpont D.; photographing of eggs using a Carl Zeiss microscope (×100) and a Canon PowerShot camera. Results of research and discussion. During 2015–2019 in 140 horses have found eggs of Parascaris equorum, Goeze 1782, nematodes eggs of family Strongylidae, Baird, 1853 and eggs of Strongyloides westeri, Ihle 1918. The intensity of invasion was 36.27%. Mono-invasions caused by nematodes of family Strongylidae were recorded most frequently (EI = 31.35%), mono-invasions were detected much less often caused by Parascaris equorum (EI = 2.07%). Mixtinvasions were found in the pathogens association: nematodes of family Strongylidae and Parascaris equorum (EI = 2.59%) and nematodes of family Strongylidae and Strongyloides westeri (EI = 0.26%). Strongylidoses of digestive tract of horses more frequently (75.21%) recorded in the low degree of invasion intensity, that is indicating of role animals as pathogen carriers. Most often horses suffered from intestinal nematodes at the aged 1 to 5 years (EI = 48.56%, II – 11.50±2.25 eggs in the field of view of microscope). Foals at the age up to one year old were less ill (EI = 27.14%) but with a higher degree of II – 15.62±2.30 eggs in the field of view of microscope. In 20.83% of horses older 10 years found intestinal nematodes with II – 4.92±0.84 eggs in the field of view of microscope. Conclusions and prospects for further research. In equine farms of the Kharkiv region intestinal nematodes of horses caused by pathogens of the family Strongylidae, Parascaris equorum, Strongyloides westeri, the extent of invasion was 36.27%. Mono-invasions were more often represented by nematodes of the family Strongylidae (EI = 31.35%), less frequently by the species Parascaris equorum (EI = 2.07%). Most often horses suffered from intestinal nematodes at the aged 1 to 5 years (EI = 48.56%). Foals at the age up to one year old were less ill (EI = 27.14%). In the future, to continue monitoring studies on the intestinal nematodes of horses and other one-hoofed animals, to analyze the dependence of infestation of animals with intestinal nematodes on the season and to establish the species composition of the strongylid.
EUDOCIA AUGUSTA. THE MARTYRDOM OF ST. CYPRIAN Introduction, translation from Greek and commentary by T. Alexandrova The poetical “Martyrdom of st. Cyprian” written by the Empress Eudocia survived in the only manuscript dated to 11th century. In their turn, out of three parts, known to us in a sort of abstract given by Photius, only two survived, the second, however, not completely. The first 99 verses of this poem that belong to the same manuscript, were preserved separately and became published a century later that the main part. It is widely thought that the poem is nothing more than a paraphrase of a former “Lives” composed before but it is getting clear now that the Saints themselves are non-historical personages with their veneration and cult yet undeveloped. Although the poem itself might appear as an older revision of the legend that circulated before being a kind of compilation and re-making of a variety of sources, the only reason of appearance of prosaic versions of the “Lives” is the school use of the poem primarily composed by Eudocia.
