On October 16th 2016 a 50th Anniversary Action Man Footballer was first available to buy. This celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the launch of the Action Man range of 1966 in the UK and re-establishes the Action Man brand once more. The Footballer has an England-style red top with woven badge, white shorts, red socks similar to the Action Footballer of 1969. He has brown flock hair, and gripping hands and a body similar to the original Action Man action figures of the 1960s and 1970s. RRP on launch is £34.99. His price has been as low as £24.99. He is produced by Art + Science International, the license holders.

The Action Man footballer dates to 1968, when he emerged in the famous England home or more popular away colours - wearing nylon shirt that was not very good at holding it's shape. Within a year or two many famous football clubs and colour combinations were available with woolen more stretchable tops as sets or cards. However they were short lived, but can be considered amongst the rarer of original Action Man sets. The 2016 Footballer revives the look of that period and features a woven badge. The new top is stretch resistant and of a higher quality weave than the original, and the embroidered badge is a new twist. The jersey is labeled as 50th in the neck. The booklet is numbered AM00002 on the cover but is otherwise identical to the 50th Action Soldier's version.
