Dransfieldia micrantha

#1

Post by Geoff »

Monotypic palm (only species in the genus) from New Guinea, named after palm expert John Dransfield. Tropical suckering pinnate species growing up to 30' tall with chestnut brown, bamboo-like trunk and sea green crownshaft. Leaves have attractive mildly pendant leaflets. Too tropical for a Mediterranean climate.
