Mosaic Company Forms New Biologicals Focused Group
The newly formed Mosaic Biosciences will be the focused division of The Mosaic Company to bring more biological technologies to market.
The company says this biological product focused group will complement its traditional crop nutrient lineup.
“Mosaic Biosciences is a natural extension of our strong crop nutrition portfolio,” said Floris Bielders, Vice President, Strategy and New Business Platforms at The Mosaic Company. “Rooted in science and proven in the field, our portfolio of biological technologies supports the existing biology in plants and soil to deliver healthier, stronger crops.”
Mosaic Biosciences already has two commercially available products: PowerCoat and BioPath. The company says these products improve nutrient use efficiency and enhance plant growth and vigor—the type of plant health and soil health benefits that will be part of the expanding lineup.
“Our portfolio of nutrient use enhancement technologies is just the start for Mosaic Biosciences,” Bielders said. “In the coming months and years, we expect to bring additional biological products to the market – all of which will be backed by science and in-field experience. Biologicals are crucial in the evolution of crop nutrition and will elevate the potential in every field.”
The company cites analyst estimates that ag biological products could reach sales of $30 billion by 2029.
