Meet the man behind Nick Saban back tattoo at Talladega, and he's not done with the ink yet

You haven't seen anything yet.

Jason McMillan has big plans.

You may not know the name, but you know him simply as the Alabama fan with the Nick Saban tattoo on his back.

The 36-year-old Muscle Shoals resident rocked the Internet on Sunday during the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway when a picture of his back hit social media.

It started with a tweet from Clay Travis of Fox Sports.

"I came back from Talladega, and my Facebook was blowing up with notifications," McMillan told AL.com on Wednesday night. "Someone took a picture of my back and it went crazy. I was shocked. I'm not used to anything like that."

Here's the thing.

Jason McMillan, 36, of Muscle Shoals has a 10-month-old Bulldog named Bama.

"It's a work in progress," he explained. "I'm not done by any means."

See, it isn't a tattoo. It is multiple tattoos that he has added over the years.

He started with the Alabama logo four years ago. It was just last year Nick Saban's image graced his back. Over time, the years of national titles and his name were added.

That's why there might be a date missing. He hasn't had time for an update.

Why his name?

"So if I die someone can identify the body," McMillan joked.

In fact, McMillan said he was at Talladega last year without a shirt, but didn't get the reaction he got this year.

"I went to the concessions stand to get food and people started taking pics," he explained.

But this year was different.

"Every time I go to Talladega, I take my shirt off because it is so dang gum hot," he said. "Someone behind me took a picture and put it on Twitter. It amazed me. People were telling me I'm breaking the Internet.

"At least I can say I was famous for a day."

The Saban image, by the way, took four to five hours to complete.

Did it hurt?

"Well, Hell yeah, it don't feel good," he said.

McMillan, who runs McMillions Body and Paint, envisions the finished product to have Paul "Bear" Bryant on the left shoulder looking down on Bryant-Denny Stadium. Saban would occupy the right shoulder. Instead of years to commemorate the national titles, he wants rings.

To finish off the piece, depictions of Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry - both Alabama Heisman Trophy winners - will anchor the montage.

"When it is all said and done, it will flip your minds," he said.

His love for Alabama football is obvious, but started with his mother, who passed away in 1999. "She never saw the tattoo."

"She used to wake me up with a Roll Tide Roll for those 11 o'clock games because they weren't real good back then," he explained.

McMillan said he tries to go to at least one game a year, but said he was in attendance during Alabama's bowl appearance under Bryant.

"I was in her stomach," he said. "My dad tells me I was there in full spirit."

McMillan, who has a 10-month-old pit bull named Bama, wants the chance to meet Saban.

He also made it very clear which of Alabama's rivals he has no love for.

"We hate Tennessee," he said. "That damn Rocky Top. I can't stand that crap.

"RTR for life."
