Ingredients

  • cooking spray

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon diced onion

  • 1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice

  • teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

  • 2 pounds halibut steaks

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Lightly grease a medium baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. Mix together Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, flour, onion, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl.

  3. Arrange halibut steaks in the prepared baking dish and cover with Cheddar cheese mixture.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 15 more minutes.
