Jennifer Love Hewitt Would Like You to Know She Hasn't Gotten a Brow Lift

She trolled her critics with hilariously unsubtle Instagram filters.

If a celebrity changes something about their appearance, like updating their hair color or getting a tattoo, there's not much conjecture involved. When hair goes from blonde to brown, like Jennifer Love Hewitt's recently did, not only is it obvious, it often comes with posts from the celebrity in question that confirm that change. But in the chaotic landscape that is a social media comment section, fans and haters alike are often more than happy to openly speculate about perceived but unsubstantiated changes like plastic surgery — and while there's nothing wrong with undergoing cosmetic procedures, Hewitt is eager to shut down those assumptions.

On Sunday, September 3, Hewitt took to her Instagram Stories to post a series of slides responding to people who have said she's been looking different lately, whether that means frequently using filters or getting work done. Over the course of five photos with extremely appearance-altering filters, Hewitt writes with a knowing sense of sarcasm, "So many people said I look different. I look the same as always. Couldn't look more natural. I woke up like this. Filters don't change you that much."

In a sixth selfie — this one filtered, but not as cartoonishly — Hewitt writes, "JK. But seriously let people be filtered or unfiltered. Be good. Be kind. Spread love." Excellent advice. But she's not done addressing the rumors.

In a video clip, Hewitt says, "Hi. I don't usually do this, but I've had a lot of people lately say that I've had a brow-lifting procedure. I don't what that — I didn't even know you could lift your brows like that," she says. "The only thing that I've done is microblading with Audrey, who I love," referring to microblading artist Audrey Glass.

Hewitt also takes the opportunity to recommend a product she's been loving and that she credits for some of the surgery talk.

"I have been using this product and I'm noticing people bringing up my brows. I don't have anything on them today really, except this product, but it's the Rare Beauty lifting gel stuff," she says, indicating the new Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel. "I mean, Selena, 'thank you' is all I can say. I love it, so I'm going to put it up so that you know what it is, but that's what it is. That is the brow lifting that people are talking about. That's all I got."

And you have to admit, Hewitt's brows do look fantastic. But whether or not you believe her, let the girl live — no one should have to feel the need to address rumors about their looks.
