Joe Dispenza, D.C., the author of Evolve Your Brain, studied biochemistry at Rutgers University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in neuroscience, and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has received postgraduate training and continuing education in neurology, neuroscience, brain function and chemistry, cellular biology, memory formation, and aging and longevity.One of the scientists, researchers, and teachers featured in the award-winning film What the BLEEP Do We Know!?, Dr. Joe has lectured on six continents, educating people about the functions of the human brain. Dr Joe’s team also has conducted extensive research on cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and neurogenesis – as well as the effects of advanced meditators’ natural resistance to the COVID-19 virus; isolating a specific protein that strengthens the immune responses. The team also has measured how intention can directly influence gene expression and protein regulation. They have measured changes in cellular mitochondrial function, endogenous opioids, neurotransmitters, telomere length, and variations in bioactive cellular metabolic particles.

First things first, this book is more or less based on meditation and manifesting the things you really want in life. I’ve decided this year would be different for me. I know, we all say that, but then we fall into our usual routines. Blah blah blah. But I really wanted to be a better me. So I did some reading for books, read reviews and I chose this one. At first, it was super interesting then dry and seemed repetitive, I wasn’t sure I would be able to finish it. I’m in part 3 when you begin to learn to meditate and this is the part that really requires your time and commitment. I’ll be honest, I haven’t actually started the meditation. The reading does say you need 40-60 minutes to meditate daily and sadly, I’m just not sure I have that extra time right now to commit. I have put a lot of the reading to use in my everyday life already and I must say it really is a good read. The author talks about changing your thinking, being more aware of your thoughts and actions. If you think negatively, you’ll react/live in negativity. It’s all about how you think and learning to “rewire your brain” to be less of a negative Nancy and more of a positive Polly. And you can’t just have fleeting thoughts of the life you want, you have to actually get lost in that thought and believe you are in that moment, convince your body that thought is real and happening right now. You have to really want it and believe it will happen for it to happen.
I think it was well worth the read honestly, just not really sure when I’ll get to practice the most important part. But I’m not out anything and it did help me anyway.

I could write my own book about the many reasons why anyone with a human brain and body - and a desire to be happy - should read this groundbreaking book. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself is "the manual" for those who want to live a truly empowered life. Combining the fields of quantum physics, neuroscience, biology, and genetics, Dr. Joe Dispenza bridges the gap between science and spirituality as he masterfully teaches his readers how to create change and a new reality for oneself. Why is this important to understand and implement? Because by the time you reach the age of 35, Dr. Dispenza shares in his book, you've memorized your own set of behaviors, emotional reactions, and thought patterns that have become 95% of your identity, which means 95% of who you are BEING is sub-conscious and automatic! By repeating the same thoughts and actions every day after day, "we begin to hard wire our brain into very specific patterns that reflect our external world." We're most often not even aware that we've developed habits for everything. As the saying goes, we ARE creatures of habit. So, most will imagine a great vision, dream or objective, only to be sidetracked by the habits they've developed that limit their true greatness along with their beloved dream. With only 5% of us that is consciously aware, how do we become - as Dr. Dispenza points out - the divine creators we are capable of being? This book brilliantly teaches us that "the greatest habit we have to break is the habit of being ourselves." In order to change and consciously create, we have to think beyond, think greater than the environment and conditions in our lives.
Shortly after reading this book I was discussing it with a successful, young woman who struggles with the hectic schedule of being a working mom. She heard the title and said, "Sounds interesting, but what if I like myself? Why would I want to change being myself?" I asked her if she ever worried about her kids or felt stressed with her overbearing schedule. "All the time." she said. "Worry, guilt, stress... doesn't that just come with the territory of motherhood and work?" Wow, I thought. I used to think that way too! That's the fallacy we've been led to believe: that worry, fear, resentment, anxiety and all those survival emotions that create chronic stress in our lives are normal. Not only are they NOT normal, they are making us - and our world - chronically ill. As a result, we are seeing breakdown in systems across the board - incoherence in our bodies, our families, communities, and our world.
It's time for conscious change because the truth is, we are so much more than we know. We are multidimensional beings, powerful beyond measure, here to be conscious creators. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself gives us leading edge science revealing the inherent power in each of us to consciously harness the mind (thoughts) and body (feelings) to change our brains, thus creating a new state of Being to affect our external world.
The tools for change and the science behind them are stunning as well. Learned a lot from the book about my own behaviors and how I set myself up for failure. I made lots of notes that I am going to ponder and reflect on.

I had to skip reading the entire book. I have trouble concentrating for more than 5 minutes. I skipped the entire book and read appendices A-C. The purpose of this book is to teach a 4 step meditation.
This meditation was helpful for me. Perhaps chapters 10 and on are useful too.
The meditation audio tapes were not on his website anymore. I found them on Youtube by another person. Name: Dr Joe Dispenza Body Part Induction Meditation week 1

Déjà très familière avec les enseignements de Joe Dispenza j'ai trouvé ce livre remarquable. Ce n'est vraiment pas un livre qui se lit rapidement il faut prendre le temps de l'étudier et de s'arrêter sur chaque concept pour vraiment intégrer l'information. Passionnant je ne peut que recommander
