5.0 out of 5 stars HORI Tekken Wireless Fightstic is a blast!

The Tekken 6 wireless fightstick bundle by Hori is a blast! I had been wanting a fight stick for over a year now, but could not afford to shell out the 70 dollar+ asking price of the standard Hori model or the MadCatz model that was a bit more expensive. I found this one here on Amazon in "like new" condition and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. They recently had this bundle offered at Bestbuy online for thirty bucks but I missed out on it as it sold out quick. This bundle came out to forty-three ninety-nine with no tax and no shipping and I received it within a week. It said "like new" however the only thing not new about it was the outer box packaging shrink wrap. Even the Tekken 6 game case had the original shrink wrapping so I could tell everything that came within the box was not used which was awesome! The only bad thing I have noticed so far has been the generic brand batteries that came included. The stick works like I expected. I've used the One-hundred dollar+ MadCatz pro model and even the lower priced version and can honestly say that it worked just as good. The buttons are solid, the joystick handle works beautifully and the finish of the cabinet is also finely crafted. It feels good while on your lap and is actually lighter then the Madcatz versions and less bulky. The added touch is it's wireless capability which neither of the MadCatz versions I have used, including the tournament model, utilize. I have noticed no lag time in button presses whatsoever. With Duracell batteries, the replacement time for a fresh recharge would be like 15+ hours of continuous use. If you are in the market for a nice arcade stick for fighting games then I would highly recommend this package. Tekken 6 is also pretty good and it was a nice added bonus. You can really tell the strength of the joystick by playing Super Street Fighter IV, and if you are using a joypad for it or any fighter for that matter, you are missing out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good

I got this game when Amazon had a deal on it for $40. It is well worth that price. The book is awesome. The game is really good. Don't get me wrong, I like Tekken, but Tekken is actually further down on my list in the 5-10 favorite fighting game genres. The game was fun and a great Tekken game. The stick is pretty good. It was the main reason I bought it. I wanted a hori fight stick since I heard good things about Hori's arcade sticks. It is nice that it is wireless. The art on the stick is good. The buttons are pretty good. Not on par with arcade quality, but 80% similar and work. A little smaller and has a little bit of a plastic feel, but not bad. Very close to a real button feel. Sometimes you have to press a little harder since they sometimes do not register midway hit side of the button presses that should count. You know how it goes. Fingers move and what should have been a dead center hit was a 2/3 button hit by hitting it on the side. The stick is ok, but not great. It works, but I notice I have to be a little more forceful and keep it rubbing the sides for some moves to register. It is ok. However, you have to be a little more proactive and controlled when playing. I played some arcade games. SF HD worked good after I remapped the buttons. However, pacman ce I was running into some detection problems. It worked, but a few times the movements did not quite work out. If I held the direction really early before the turn I had no problems but if I waited until a half or full second before the turn sometimes it missed the chance to turn. Since this collection has been out for some time maybe the bundled batteries are getting low, but I had only been using the stick for 30 minutes grand total since I got it. A good stick and functional, but 1/10 times I was having some command issues. Could be the player, but could be the stick. I'm glad I tried a hori stick. It is functional, but I don't think it is a stable arcade stick. If you have the money, I would skip this stick and get a different one. If you need a second stick for your player 2, have a great art book, and tekken 6 if you don't have it already I would recommend it. I will use this stick, but having to adjust how I play is a big disappointment. I expected more for hori. From the video reviews on youtube they agree. Decent, but probably a b+ fight stick. Since I only have like 4 fighting games and several xbox arcade games this is worth it. I am a fighting game fan, but most of the games are on my ps3. My mayflash arcade stick easily beats this arcade stick. Sad part is you have to use a $50 adapter to use that $37 mayflash arcade stick on the 360.

2.0 out of 5 stars Joystick is fairly crap

Great game and good book, but the joystick included is of the lowest quality that they could still get away with. The stick has not been awesome, but, meh, it's a cheap package, so you get what you pay for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great game, but the controller is lame

I bought this fight stick thinking it could control a cheaper alternative to MadCatz controllers. But it's made entirely of plastic (including the handle). If I lived in USA, I would have returned it and bought only the game.

Definitely I do not recommend it for MvC3 and SSF4 players... only if you wish to see it disassemble in your hands.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great fightstick. Average game.

I have never been a huge fan of Rated T or Rated E games. It's like watching a movie where the heros and bad guys are trying so hard not to say a profanity word or hit their intended target so hard but not too hard where they'll bleed and splatter all over the place. But that's my take on Tekken 6 - the game. Just like Street Fighter, all the violence is there, but the blood and actual physical damage has been substituted with flashes of light.

The fightstick is another story. I've heard earlier versions that this fightstick came with a bluetooth dongle of some sort. But it connected to my 360 with no problems. Buttons are responsive. I see no lag at all. My only gripe with the thing is the actual stick it self. It's a CLICKY stick. Any direction you move it, you'll hear a click. This may get annoying if you don't have your sound system blasting while the game plays. Also, doing quarter circles or half circles takes a little getting used to because it's not a smooth movement. The clicky feature of the stick makes the quarter turns not very fluid when you try to pull it off. And lastly, the Tekken wallpaper on my fightstick is not glued on very well. It started peeling upwards near the bottom of the buttons. I had to get some adhesive but I was pretty surprised how cheaply this was constructed. Yes, it's not a TE stick, but it's still good if you can get past the clicky joystick.
