Lake Goitzsche

The Pegelturm floats on the Lake Goitzsche and is only accessible via a pontoon bridge, sinking and rising with the water level.

Since August 2006, Bitterfeld and the region around Lake Goitzsche are home to an impressive structure. With the Bitterfelder Bogen, Frankfurt artist Claus Bury created a unique vantage point enabling views over the newly created lake landscape of the region.

The Red Tower, built in the 13th century, is 30 meters high.

The Information Center for Environment and Nature Conservation at the Mulde Reservoir tells the story of the transformation from a dredging empire to a natural idyll.

The Altjeßnitz maze is in a park in the picturesque Mulde floodplain. It is the largest and oldest baroque maze in Germany. Its two-meter-high hornbeam hedges and narrow paths make for an impressive maze.

This museum commemorates what was once the second largest film stock factory in the world, producing AGFA/ORWO stock. The museum also possesses the largest public camera collection in Saxony-Anhalt.
