Samir Gibara

Mr. Samir G. Gibara served as the President of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. from April 15, 1995 to October 3, 2000 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from January 1, 1996 to January 1, 2003. Mr. Gibara served as Chief Operating Officer of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. from April 15, 1995 to January 1, 1996 and served as its Chairman of the Board from July 1, 1996 to June 30, 2003. Since 1992, he served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Goodyear and since 1994, served as Executive Vice President with responsibility for North American tire operations. He joined Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1964 as a Management Trainee in France. He left Goodyear briefly and served as Vice President of Marketing for International Harvester in Europe. His past positions at the Goodyear Corporation include Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development and Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He served as Chairman of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Pension Arm. He serves as an Advisor and Director of TruVitals, Inc. He has been a Director of Edgen Group Inc. since 2012. He served as a Director of W&T Offshore Inc. from May 2008 to May 7, 2013. He served as a Director of Dana Holding Corporation (also known as Dana Corp.) from April 2004 to 2008. He served as a Director of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. Mr. Gibara served on the Dean’s Board of Advisors at the Harvard Business School from April 2007 to April 2011. Mr. Gibara served as a Director of International Paper Company from March 9, 1999 to December 31, 2011. He served as a Director of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. since April 15, 1995 until June 30, 2003. Mr. Gibara earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Cairo University and a Masters Degree in International Business and Finance from Harvard University. He attended the Kellogg Graduate School of Management’s Executive Program at Northwestern University.
