The Hôtel Majestic Barrière in Cannes, France, has even more appeal with the recent debut of its 1,076-square-foot Mélodie suite. In a town so ensconced in the world of cinema, it’s no wonder that the new suite was inspired by a film, 1963’s Mélodie en Sous-sol, which was shot at the Belle Époque property and stars French actors Alain Delon and Jean Gabin.
French designer and architect Nathalie Ryan, formerly the director of architecture at Dior, imagined the new interiors. Complete with a rotunda and a view of the Bay of Cannes, the suite contains a main living area, two smaller lounges, and a pair of bedrooms with en suite baths. Ryan, who was inspired by the sea, filled the rooms with shades of blue and gray and hung photographs depicting scenes from the movie. Guests will enjoy the hotel’s luxe amenities, including a private beach, a Clarins spa, a screening room, a Champagne lounge, and four restaurants.
Even if you’re not a cinephile, the Mélodie suite is sure to impress.
