If you love lewisias but they hate you (or your climate) this is the variety to try. These hybrids combine the colorful flowers of Lewisia cotyledon with the durability of Lewisia longipetala, plus a dose of hybrid vigor, to make easy-to-grow plants with gorgeous blooms. Each seedling is different, and can bloom anywhere in the full lewisia color range from white to yellow to red and every shade of orange, peach, and salmon in between. Heaviest flowering is in the spring, with occasional repeat in the fall. The evergreen succulent rosettes of leaves look great all year. Best in well-drained soils and full sun to afternoon shade (shade appreciated in very hot climates). Hardy to Zone 4. They put on the most new growth in the cooler temperatures of spring and fall, and respond well to a little extra fertilizer in those seasons.
