I am a biologist, focused on natural history of South American freshwater fishes. Illustration is part of my professional activity as a scientist and teacher. South American freshwater fishes are one of the most species-rich group of vertebrates in the world. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most endangered by anthropogenic activities. I hope that illustrations should help to highlight the beauty and the necessity of preservation of such spectacular organisms.
