A pretty petite Fuschia, caught dangling delicately from it's twig. I took this photo in my daughters garden, as I like Fuschia flowers. It was the onset of winter, and it hung there all alone, the last bastion of the festoon of similar flowers just before.

I personally think, it would look marvellous in large format adorning a large space in an open room, or equally as a smaller image in a more personal space.

Maree Jolleau's work is based many times on those captured moments of life, that we remember, but can't necessarily recall to mind visually. These works aim to provoke those memories and bring your memories before your eyes.

Maree is also fascinated by the light around us, and how it plays a large part of our visual world. Working from dark to light in her work, challenging herself with each piece to capture the right light for each particular subject.

My worldview and mindset are an eclectic affair, which is reflected in my work.

Sometimes, I wish I just had a style that is easily recognisable, but then that would limit the activity of my mind.

My approach to a subject or composition is directed by how I feel about what I want to create, and there are so many genres that I enjoy, that I don't want to be limited to 'a style'. When you view my work, it is a reflection of my feelings and thoughts at that moment, and the finished image is the journey that prevailed in exhibiting them.

If I don't create, I'm not happy.

I decided to extend my artwork into home wares, because, rather than just having a picture hanging on the wall, which is wonderful in itself, why not be surrounded by artistic imagery in our daily lives via cushions, curtains, dinnerware, wallpaper, and so on. Therefore, I am looking to expand my options for my clientele, but it is a bit of a process to find good quality, and reasonable prices, but I'm on the hunt.
