Mission

We are a group of dedicated residents pursuing environmental awareness and sustainability within Audubon Borough.  Through Sustainable Jersey, a state non-profit organization that provides tools, training and financial incentives to support communities as they pursue sustainability programs, we began the effort to become Bronze certified in 2018. We received a grant from PSE&G and achieved Bronze certification in November 2019.  We were also honored as “Rookie of the Year” for the State of New Jersey and as “Camden County Sustainability Champion” in 2019!

In 2020 we received a grant from New Jersey American Water to install two rain gardens in Audubon.  One is at Green Wave Field and the other is at the Audubon Family Park next to the Francis J. Ward Recreation Center.

In 2021 we received a “Helping Hands” donation from Riggs Distler & Co. for solar panels that were installed at our Sustainable Shed in Audubon Family Park.  These solar panels provide power for lights inside and outside the shed and a power source.  This is also an educational exhibit for homeowners considering going solar.

Through community outreach, achieving Sustainable Jersey Bronze certification,  and the installation and education of rain gardens, we are hoping to make the Borough of Audubon a place that future generations can enjoy!
