I enjoy fresh oysters as much as I do a nice glass of sparkling wine.

During happy hour at Alexander Pierce, one of Akron's newest fine dining hot spots, you can get both.

Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., this swanky restaurant with that old-school feel features fresh $1 Blue Point oysters on the half shell. I sipped on a $17 mini bottle of Moet Champagne with my briney little succulents.

Moet is a favorite of Queen Elizabeth. It was even served at Prince Charles and Diana's wedding. So give yourself the royal treatment after work some night.

If bubbles aren't your fancy, there are drink specials every weeknight. Anything from half-off Martini Mondays to half-off their signature 1920s-style cocktails on Throwback Thursday.

All craft beers are $2 during happy hour.

If you're searching for an awesome food and wine experience, look no further.

The wine dinners with Chef Frank Hill's food are something fabulous. Ohio's only Certified Master Sommelier Larry O'Brien and winemaker Greg Brewer of Brewer-Clifton winery will headline a Santa Barbara wine experience on March 18.

Tickets and further information can be found at alexanderpiercerestaurant.com or by calling Lynsey Curren at 330-529-2003. The restaurant is at 797 E. Market St.

You can buy a bottle of the Moet & Chandon Champaign at Mustard Seed Market Montrose for $49.99 or a half bottle for $29.99.
