This publication brings together representative works of Hellenic and Roman sculpture from the Neolithic period up to Late Antiquity. The systematic and exhaustive search for the sources that influenced their creation has been conducted with a sense of responsibility that is exemplary in terms of the scholarly investigation of how the Greek and Roman cultural past is perceived. From this viewpoint, the study offers valuable information of an archaeological nature, but also extends to historical and sociological implications.
