Ernst Buschor relinquishes post for health reasons

Buschor first joined the Bertelsmann Stiftung Board of Trustees in October 2000. In January 2005 he was appointed chairman. From 1993 to 2003, the native of Switzerland was a member of the canton of Zurich’s government, initially responsible for healthcare and, as of 1995, education.

“During his tenure, Ernst Buschor has made a critical contribution to the Bertelsmann Stiftung’s reform efforts, thanks to his extensive international experience and his excellent knowledge of the education and healthcare sectors,” said Liz Mohn, interim chair of the Board of Trustees. “We very much regret his departure and fully respect the reason for his decision. We wish him all the best for the future.” 

Dieter Vogel has been closely affiliated with the Bertelsmann organization for many years. He is currently chairman of the Bertelsmann AG Supervisory Board and member of the Bertelsmann Management Company. He has been a member of the Bertelsmann Stiftung Board of Trustees since January 2004. Formerly head of Thyssen, Vogel is managing partner at LGB & Vogel GmbH in Düsseldorf.
