What an improvement over our 2011 iMac!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can't say enough good about the new iMac. The 27" screen is far superior to the 21" screen, and the ability to upgrade RAM to 64 gigs is also a big plus. I highly recommend this model as iy does everything I want plus more.

Get iMac - Be Happy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new iMac is years beyond any other computer in our household. The graphics are clear, precise and brilliant. I bought the computer strictly for writing my manuscripts and song lyrics. The Garage Band Studio program that came preinstalled on the iMac is perfect for capturing my original songs. The preinstalled video program is sharp and bright. Many free Apple apps and bonuses make the iMac invaluable to artists and writers and a must have as an everyday computer. Get one - it will pay for itself in not having to buy several cheap computers over time.

Fantastic screen...but wish it was touch screen
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned an apple 16 inch MacBook Pro because not worth it since neither touchscreen or 2-1 system. I mean come on Apple make one or the other or both. I got the desktop since it is easier to use without needing touchscreen capability. I am not an Apple laptop or desktop user, my first foray into this medium...steep learning curve but getting there. As others say the graphics is fantastic as is the editing capability. I bumped up the memory configuration to 64GB by buying and installing my own memory sticks, a substantial savings over ordering it configured this way. This Apple desktop bought with intention of Making it easier to back up all the family IPADS, will see...have not gotten around to do so yet. This is another reason for returning the MacBook Pro as it required new cables just to connect your iPad. The fusion drive is slow and major bottleneck but is a cost savings over an SSD configured iMac. The bottleneck can be solved mostly but using the thunderbolt connections with an external SSD. So far I like the iMac even with the learning curve of learning a new system from my history of Windows based system...exciting!

Absolutely nothing to complain about.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design has been around awhile, but it’s still great. This configuration is quick, efficient and perfect for my needs. (Note: I modified configuration from 8gb to 32gb RAM from a third party seller at much more reasonable prices than those offered by Apple!). This will keep me going for several years.

Excellent Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am happy with the overall addition to our Apple Family. The RAM upgrade was simple, easily accessible, and reasonably priced @ $140 for 32 GB (2 x 16GB); the OS picked up the upgrade instantly. This particular model is cheaper from Apple, but BestBuy did price match my order. So shop around, they had to match the model, configurations and build to a 't', but it was the same so I saved $250 with the price match. The only downside to purchasing through Best Buy is not being able to upgrade to the Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for +$50 vs purchasing the item separately and having two keyboards. I also waited to purchase AppleCare directly from Apple, but that is only a preference. Apple did have difficulty locating my unit initially for AppleCare, but after ~20min online with Apple they were able to get the system to recognize the device and I was able to continue with the purchase of AppleCare. For the most part little nuances with the purchase through Best Buy, but it was worth it in the end because i was able to apply a $500 Best Buy gift card using Marriott Bonvoy points. Apple missed out on the sale because seemingly all other Apple stuff is part of the program including iTunes gift cards but no Apple Store Gift cards unless they are one in the same and I was not trying to learn the hard way that they are not. The ship time was 3 days and free so overall this is a win/win.

Q: Questioncan I get more ram for this?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, RAM can only be up to 16GB on Best Buy and up to 64GB on apple.com. It is confirmed that you can insert up to 128GB of RAM using the manual below. 21.5-inch iMac do NOT have RAM doors. A RAM door can be found on the back on 5K 27-inch iMacs. To open it, turn off your iMac and wait 10-20 minutes after shut down. Unplug your iMac, and press the little button in the power supply port. This button releases the door open. Open it further if needed. Then push gently down onto the RAM and remove the old RAM sticks. Then insert your new RAM and push down on it gently. Then, close the door. Confirm that is the door is locked on. Plug it back in. If your iMac doesn't turn on, repeat. If it does, login, and click the Apple icon in the corner and click "About this Mac." Finally, check "Memory" and make sure that the correct amount of RAM can be used. If not, repeat.

Q: QuestionI'm told the SSD on the 2TB is much better than the 1TB IMAC models... On the 2TB model what is the split difference on the SSD vs. Hard drive? Also, can you tell me the split on the 1TB model please? Does the 2TB have a much larger SSD?
Asked by SSDSPACEON2TB.
- A:Answer The 1TB fusion drive is paired with a 32GB SSD, while the 2TB Fusion drive gets a 128GB SSD.

Q: Questionis this the one that plays games or is it the imac pro?
Asked by zeebuzzy.
- A:Answer The i5 3.7GHZ iMac with the Radeon 580X will play all recent games, but the frame rates will vary depending on the game and resolution factors. Because of the limited air cooling in the iMac, expect it to get VERY hot for extended game play. Build or buy a PC for better graphics and cooling if you are a serious desktop gamer. Otherwise, this iMac does play games quite well for the casual gamer.

Q: QuestionCan I get second 27" monitor with this?
Asked by MrKeith.
- A:Answer Yes. I found a DoubleSight 27 in. monitor (on ebay) and it has a tiny bit more resolution than the iMac, but a fantastic match. I simply plugged it in and the display works in extended mode. So, effectively, I have a "monitor" with 10,240 x 2880 resolution. I just LOVE all that screen "real estate". I also have an ASUS 27" monitor as the second monitor on my HP pc. It would work the same.
