Here’s a nice example of one of the classic 80s sportbikes – Suzuki’s biggest Gixxer. It’s recently been gone through by a seller who’s owned over 10 examples of the model and he says this is the best he’s seen.
The GSX-R 1100 was introduced in 1986, and the 1,052cc inline four engine produced 137 horsepower and weighed 434 pounds. This example has a high quality repaint though under fluorescent light you can see a slight ‘orange peel’ in the blacks. The forks, swingarm, and wheels were powder coated black. The only non-stock parts seem to be different jets in the carbs and a modern Yoshimura header and exhaust. There’s some cosmetic flaws as you’d expect from something that’s 30 years old, but in general it’s a nice rider quality motorcycle from someone who’s clearly passionate about Gixxers.
