Since landing a role in the new season of VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, Juelz Santana has been active in the rap game. On Tuesday (Dec. 13), he gathered up a bevy of rap all-stars like Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Redman, and Method Man for his new track “Ol’ Thang Back.”
With Jahlil Beats providing the beat, the Dipset MC and his allies pounce on this grimy street record with gusto. “I came in grinding, Puff made me shining/Put ’em both together, a protege of the ’90s/Grew up, put that bullshit behind me / Started making niggas demises untimely / Looking for me, come to the hood you can find me / Gucci belt right on the waist where the 9 be,” raps the D-Block general Jadakiss.
Santana returns the favor by dousing the track with some ether of his own: “I came to bring the pain / Put n—as to shame, simple and plain / They gon’ remember my name / And it’s all for respect not fame / So don’t play with me, You could give ’em rope, they still can’t hang with me.”
