Description

Hyphessobrycon is a genus of freshwater fish in the family Characidae. These species are among the fishes known as tetras. The genus is distributed in the Neotropical realm from southern Mexico to Río de la Plata in Argentina.

Hyphessobrycon erythrostigma,The bleeding heart tetra,   is a freashwater tropical fish native to the Upper Amazon River basin. It grows to the size of 64mm and lives for around five years. Both sexes have the eye-catching blood-red spot in the pectoral area. Both also have the black and white patch on the dorsal fin.

Great for you community fish tank. It is a very peaceful, schooling fish.
