Antillophos durianoides: Shell of medium size for the genus. Holotype: 23.0 mm in length.
Shape slender with a high spire. Sculpture cancellate. Teleoconch with 6 rather globose whorls. Colour white to pale yellowish brown. Protoconch with about 3 whorls. Tip eroded. Last whorl with 3 spiral cords, the last 1/3 whorl with some curved axial riblets. The first teleoconch whorl is ornamented with 3 strong spiral cords, forming sharp knobs on the axial ribs. Body whorl with 12 spiral cords, interspaces broad, occasionally with 1 or 3 fine secondary spirals cords.
First teleoconch whorl with 11 sharp axial ribs. Body whorl with about 19 axial ribs and a big labral varix.

Columella sculptured with 2 strong abapical folds, 1 strong adapical fold, and usually with some additional knobs in between corresponding to the sculpture of the preceeding whorl. Antillophos durianoides: A. (A.) durianoides n. sp. is characterized by the sculpture forming strong knobs when spiral and axial sculpture cross, by the broad secondary spiral cords with fine a groove as interspace, by the strong columellar knobs. In some specimens, especially subadult, the additional columellar knobs may be absent, resulting in a smoother columella. The specimens from Balicasag arc larger and have a slightly more pronounced sculpture than the ones from Aliguay.
A. (A.) retecosus (Hinds, 1844) (Plate 12, Fig. 2) (type locality: "Ceylon") is similar in sculpture but differs by the broader shape in combination with a more conical spire (instead of semi-oval), the smoother subsutural area, the presence of brown lines on top of the spiral cords and some brownish bands on the body whorl and on the labral varix. The size is slightly larger.
