A fast growing native with fresh green, oval, serrated foliage on shiny black branches. Remains in a columnar form for many years before eventually forming a large round-headed specimen tree. Thrives in swampy situations. Can reach a height of 40m but in a garden situation it is more commonly between 6-10m.
