Design Tips

Bottlebrush Grass is a tall, clump-forming shade grass. It adds interest when planted individually in a shade garden to tower above surrounding plants. Since it spreads readily by seed, we prefer to use it in woodland restorations and taller habitats where it can run wild. Bottlebrush Grass (Elymus hystrix) is a great plant for places where buckthorn has been removed.

Great native plant choice for the Minnesota Lawns to Legumes grant program!
