It’s official: Supermodel Gisele Bundchen will take her last catwalk next month during Sao Paulo Fashion Week in her native Brazil, then will hang up her stilettos and retire from the runway to spend more time with her family.
“While commemorating her 20th career anniversary, Gisele Bündchen will also celebrate her last walk for Fashion Week shows,” the model’s rep said in a statement. “The top model, who has walked for the most prestigious brands in the business, such as Chanel, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga and Givenchy and has cut back her catwalk appearances over the years, will walk her final fashion show in her native country during the Sao Paulo Fashion Week.”
Mrs. Tom Brady will still have a busy — and extremely lucrative — career modeling for TV, magazine and other ad campaigns after she stops runway modeling. But the move is a milestone for the world’s most successful supermodel, who made her bones on the runway as Victoria’s Secret’s No. 1 “Angel.”
“Gisele will continue working on special projects and also give more time to her No. 1 priority: her family,” the statement concluded. Gisele is, of course, married to the Patriots QB and is mom to their kids — Benjamin, 5, and Vivian, 2 — and stepmom to Tom’s son Jack, 7.
