LIVINGSTON, La (BRPROUD)- Although COVID-19 has created a bump in the road for students and families, for the 2020-2021 school year Livingston Parish Public Schools are experiencing a higher number of enrollment from before the pandemic.

As of August 11, Livingston Parish Public Schools have 26,150 students enrolled for either virtual, hybrid or five-day-a-week learning, according to Superintendent Joe Murphy.

This enrollment number is above the enrollment rate than when schools shutdown in February at the start of the pandemic.

Out of the 26,150 students enrolled, 2,559 students chose virtual instruction, according to Murphy.

The deadline to enroll in virtual instruction is August 14.
