Burley Cemetery

The Burley Cemetery is located in the extreme south part of Kitsap County about one-half mile north of the Pierce County line.  On Willow Road, which is on the west side of the Burley Lagoon, this cemetery was founded by the Cooperative Brotherhood Colony about 1898.

This is a community owned cemetery and is still occasionally used, the last recorded burial being in 1981.

The first burial was in 1898 and was that of a 12 year of boy named Ralph Willard.

The written records of this cemetery were destroyed by fire in a house where the records were kept, hence the only available names and dates are those found on the gravestones themselves.
