Do you enjoy sweating over some deliciously spicy food? Or unwinding with an ice-cold beer? At the Carlsberg Real Spicy Real Smooth pop-up event, you can do both! Happening from 18 August to 2 September 2023 at JioSpace, the event is celebrating all things spicy which pairs perfectly with a pint of Carlsberg Smooth Draught.

Promising to be a spectacular flavour bomb with non-stop entertainment, this experience will heat up your day in more ways than one! Ahead, here are five things to look forward to at Carlsberg’s Real Spicy Real Smooth pop-up.
Specially-made spicy food galore
For the Real Spicy Real Smooth pop-up, several local food brands have come together to curate plenty of mouth-tingling dishes that go the best with Carlsberg Smooth Draught. There will be one-of-a-kind plates served such as Bean Jr’s mala tau fu fah, Churn’s Beer-gato and Monster Chef’s curated menu of seven unique items which celebrate the best of Malaysian spicy local flavours. These include the nasi lemak bomb, devil’s curry pocket bun, mala siu yoke, amongst others.

Hands-on experience crafting your own beer and cocktails
‘Tap’ into your inner bartender and show off your hot moves as you learn how to prepare your own draught beer with the tap from professionals.
Do you also appreciate a good cocktail? Every weekend, the pop-up event will host cocktail workshops where you can have your hand in creating spicy concoctions using Carlsberg Smooth Draught.
The workshop will be led by Jason Julian of Soma Cocktail Bar. Four sessions will be held throughout the day at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm on weekends on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Electrifying live performances by local and international DJs
Dance the night away to Carlsberg’s lineup of renowned DJs as they drop their fiery beats on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Frequent party-goers will be familiar with the exhilarating performances of local DJs such as Bass Agents, Ken Fung and Ramsey Westwood. Further, emerging Singaporean DJ, Inquisitive, will be burning up the stage with his Asian-fusion sound.
Instagram-worthy photo opportunities everywhere
Events such as these are for making lasting memories. Capture all the good times (and your cool OOTDs) using the photo booths! For an even more personalised touch, the printed photo can be pasted on a bottle of Carlsberg Smooth Draught for a memorable keepsake.
With its neon signs, photo walls and extensive set designs, the Carlsberg Real Spicy Real Smooth pop-up will have plenty of Instagram-worthy features at every corner!
Exclusive merchandise that looks good on everyone
Apart from the explosive food and drinks, Carlsberg has partnered up with two Malaysian brands to come up with exclusive merchandise. Known for showcasing Malaysia through its products, APOM has created three Carlsberg-exclusive T-shirts which will look good on everyone.
Further, popular local jewellery brand Gumme will be exclusively selling uniquely designed phone charms and necklaces at the pop-up. If you would like to try out making beaded accessories on your own, Gumme is also hosting a phone charms workshop every Saturday from 2pm to 3pm.
