Rockefeller Capital Management Appoints Shelly Lazarus, Marty Mannion as Independent Directors to Board

NEW YORK--()--Rockefeller Capital Management today announced the appointment of Shelly Lazarus and Marty Mannion as new independent members of the Firm’s Board of Directors. The additions of Lazarus, the former CEO of Ogilvy & Mather, and Mannion, a financial services and healthcare investor who led private equity firm Summit Partners, bring additional depth and experience to the Board.

With these additions, the Board is comprised of nine members, including five independent directors.

Lazarus is Chairman Emeritus of Ogilvy & Mather. She rose through the ranks at Ogilvy over the course of four decades, taking on roles of increasing responsibility including worldwide CEO in 1996 and Chairman in 1997. She received numerous accolades during her career including Advertising Women of New York’s Woman of the Year award in 1994 and the 1995 Matrix Award from Women in Communications. Lazarus ranked as one of Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business for multiple years. She has served on the boards of Blackstone, General Electric, Merck, FINRA, the World Wildlife Fund, Lincoln Center and the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School.

Mannion was Managing Director at Summit Partners for more than 30 years, having joined the global alternative investment firm in 1985, shortly after its founding. He received a 2015 lifetime achievement award from the Healthcare Private Equity Association in recognition of his years of experience managing portfolios of healthcare investments. Mannion has a track record as a growth stage investor in the wealth management and registered investment advisor (RIA) industry. He has served as a board director of more than 35 companies including American Dental Partners, Bartlett Nuclear, Employee Benefit Plans, Pharmaco Dynamics Research, Lincare Suburban Ostomy, and Sun Trading. He is currently a board director for CareCentrix and Champion Windows. He started his career as an IBM Systems Engineer and serves on the board of educational institutions including Up Academy, Berklee College of Music and Regis High School in New York.
