About Dr. Domenic Canonico

Dr. Canonico grew up in East Tennessee where he graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1979. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame in 1983 and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1987. Upon graduation from medical school, he was commissioned into the United States Army and completed his Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington and was board certified at the completion of residency. He also served as Company Commander of the 918 Medical Detachment in Won Ju, South Korea from 1988-1990. He served as a staff Otolaryngologist at Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas where he was privileged to care for United States armed service members, retirees and their dependents.

In 1994, Dr. Canonico returned to Tennessee and opened a private practice. He has served the people of middle Tennessee for the past 27 years with the exception of a 16 month period of time working for Indian Health Services for the Choctaw Nation in Oklahoma.

Dr. Canonico has a 34 year tradition of providing friendly care and treatment to every patient delivering state of the art care in a community based setting. He enjoys helping his patients learn about their conditions so they can make informed decisions and feel good about their care.
