Diebold Inc. announced Tuesday the promotions of Timothy J. McDannold to vice president, global business services, and M. Scott Hunter to vice president, treasurer and chief tax officer.

In his new role, McDannold will be responsible for defining Diebold’s global business services strategy and developing and managing an infrastructure to drive business transformation, process improvement, enhance service levels, further reduce cost and improve controls.

“As a new business unit for Diebold, the global business services organization will serve a critical role in our efforts to streamline our global financial business processes,” Thomas W. Swidarski,  president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

Hunter will be responsible for leading and overseeing Diebold’s global treasury operations.  He will also retain oversight of the company’s global tax function, including U.S. domestic, U.S. international and local country direct and indirect taxes.

McDannold, a Canton native, most recently served as vice president and treasurer having joined the company in 1988 as a financial analyst. Prior to joining Diebold, he was a senior auditor for Ernst & Young.
