4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Standard bottle, light gold in color. Beautiful tropical fruit, apricot, marmalade and pineapple qualities. Medium-bodied, with softened acidity. Pineapple and tropical fruit flavors on the palate with a good finish. A very nice example of this wine.

Medium gold. A bit lighter than expected for its age. Citrus marmalade, honey, wax and notes of Boytritis on the nose. Not very viscous on the palate but balanced. Sweet, medium bodied, high acid, medium alcohol. Good length. It finishes interestingly dry. Definitely a sweet treat to drink. This is a mature Sauternes that can certainly hold up for a few years. There's plenty of acidity to shield it from time.

From 375ml, paired with goat blue cheese. It smells dried abricot, botrytis, caramel creme brûlée. Some flowery notes in the background that could get close to chrysanthem. I found the same aromas on the palate, plus a light touch of wood in the finish. Light bodied with a fresh sweetness but lacking acidity. Clean and long finish. After 1-2 hours, the wine is rather flattening than improving, as well as showing higher volatile acidity in the mid palate. Overall a great experience from a 1er cru that is showing its bests after 30 minutes of air. Drink up as it will no longer improve.

Solid Sauternes. Plush in the mouth, with gentle acidity. Citrus peel and flowers. Fresh and long.
