Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world as we know it. New and powerful generative AI models are being deployed across industries to transform the way we all live and work.
As we stand on the cusp of the AI revolution, many organisations have been quick to harness AI technologies to enhance their businesses and empower their workforce. Many others have experimented with new applications for AI, pushing boundaries and exploring opportunities. However, the advantages of using AI entail risks to cybersecurity and data integrity that can quickly erode digital trust. Companies now face a moment of truth: How can they protect their users from emerging threats and misuse of data, while forging ahead in the AI race?
The 37th CIO Workshop explores how digital trust has inevitably become the latest valued currency in the global economy—a strong indicator of an organisation’s ability to operate responsibly and safely with AI.
In this forum, we’ll discuss how various industries and organisations are approaching innovation and the adoption of AI. From upskilling the future AI talent pool to implementing responsible AI practices and embedding strong cybersecurity controls, we will highlight key steps on how businesses can build confidence in this evolving digital landscape.
Singapore Workshop
We begin the 37th CIO Workshop in Singapore by looking ahead to the future of talent. Together, we’ll explore the importance of cultivating an AI-literate workforce and generation that can adapt to the fast-paced changes in technology.
This year’s programme will also highlight the ethical considerations of implementing AI and new generative AI (gen AI) models and discuss their impact on society. We’ll highlight the areas where AI development and application can be refined, to promote transparency and ensure effective regulation for accountability and trust in AI systems.
As these technologies gain widespread adoption, we’ll examine its risks to cybersecurity and digital vulnerabilities. We’ll also explore the flip side with showcases of real-life applications of AI that enhance security, digital trust and more. Additionally, we’ll delve into the best practices of leading organisations in AI innovation and share how industry leaders can proactively prepare for emerging digital threats.

Ministerial Dialogue: Cultivating Tomorrow's AI Leaders
Discover the future of AI education in an engaging ministerial dialogue with Guest of Honour, Minister Chan Chun Sing. The dialogue titled "Cultivating Tomorrow's AI Leaders", explores how the education sector can adapt to the fast-paced changes in AI technology and remain agile in preparing students for emerging trends and technologies. Identify the key skills and competencies that corporate tech leaders are seeking in AI talent and learn how industry leaders can support continuous learning in the field of AI. This dialogue will be moderated by Mark Tham, Country Managing Director, Accenture Singapore.

Mr Chan Chun Sing
Minister for Education and Minister-in-charge of the Public Service
Mr Chan Chun Sing was appointed as Singapore’s Minister for Education on 15 May 2021 and Minister-in-charge of the Public Service since 1 May 2018. Mr Chan drove Singapore’s economic and industrial development as Minister for Trade and Industry (MTI) from 2018 to 2021.
At MTI, he ratified the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement, as well as deepened international cooperation on the digital economy. As Deputy Chairman of the People’s Association from 2015 to 2021, he oversaw national efforts to foster social cohesion. As Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) from 2015 to 2018, he expanded the Labour Movement network to represent all working people in Singapore. Prior to NTUC, he held portfolios in Social and Family Development, Community Development, Youth and Sports, Defence and Information, Communications and the Arts. Serving with the Singapore Armed Forces from 1987 to 2011, Mr Chan held various appointments including Chief of Army.

Mark Tham is the country managing director for Accenture in Singapore, with over 20 years of consulting experience. Prior to that, he led Health & Public Service in Southeast Asia and manages the key client relationships as the Client Group Lead.
His passion lies in assisting his clients to meet the needs of citizens, businesses and public servants by harnessing the power of transformative technologies and becoming a truly data-driven organisation that analyses, shares and acts on data insights to make a lasting difference in people’s lives and drives business growth.
He is the Vice President of the Imperial College Alumni Association of Singapore, and he also sits on the Board of Directors of a few charities.

About
The CIO Workshop was created and piloted by Accenture USA in 1986. In 1988, Accenture Singapore brought the CIO Workshop to Singapore for the first time and jointly organised it in partnership with the Information Technology Management Association (ITMA). The ITMA was previously known as the Data Processing Management Association of Singapore. After more than two decades, Accenture has not only established deep expertise and experience working with CIOs, but has also developed a long-standing relationship with the ITMA in Singapore. The CIO Workshop has since become the longest-running annual forum where CIOs share best practices and discuss prevailing IT management issues. It is the only IT forum with a 30-year heritage.
In 2000, the bar was raised when the CIO Workshop took on a dual location format. Since then, delegates have had the opportunity to travel, learn from and network with their peers from another Asian city during the second leg of the workshop. Past destinations have included Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Today, the CIO Workshop has become the de-facto forum for CIOs of large private and public organisations in Singapore. Delegates return annually to the event to benefit from the rich content and valuable peer networking opportunities.
