Polycom CEO Hagerty retires, Miller promoted

Video conferencing system maker Polycom Inc. on Monday promoted Andrew Miller to president and CEO, replacing Robert Hagerty effective today.

Miller joined the company in 2009 as the head of global field operations. He replaces Hagerty, who has led the company for 13 years. Hagerty is also the chairman of Polycom's board, and the company said he will resign from that role. Director David DeWalt will become chairman, and Miller will be appointed to the board after Polycom's annual shareholder meeting.

Before joining Polycom, Miller worked at Cisco Systems and was CEO of video conferencing company Tandberg.

DeWalt, the incoming chairman, was lead independent director and has been on the board since November 2005.
