What's this beach like?
There are cliffs lush plant life surrounding Navio Beach on the island of Vieques, which is also studded with hidden caves. Much like Vieques itself, the experience here is serene and a bit removed—just as it's supposed to be.
How easy is it to get to?
A ferry or short flight takes you from the mainland to Vieques; from there, it's a quick drive toward the beach. Access is free.
Are there any amenities available, or is this more of a DIY experience?
This is a secluded beach with no amenities, so bring all the equipment you need with you.
How’s the actual beach stuff—sand and surf?
The waves aren't large enough for surfing, but the water is turquoise and always warm.
Can we go barefoot?
There's a lot of seaweed and some downed trees thanks to Hurricane Maria, but the terrain is pretty navigable.
Who do you think would most enjoy a beach like this?
Those who want somewhere secluded and scenic
