Every day I wake up, look at myself in the mirror, and mentally fumble over what it might mean that I, a self-proclaimed “stylish person” like to wear a Guy Fieri-inspired flame-printed shirt out in public, completely unironically. I wear it with jeans. I wear it with crop tops underneath. Hell, I’ve even used it as a bikini cover-up before. And I will defend it and its supersaturated flames against all #haters forevermore.

What started as a funny Halloween costume has now become an integral part of my actual wardrobe. Catch me outside, grabbing a latte in my fiery bowling shirt worn as a light jacket over my favorite white tank and low-rise jeans. Then spot me, again, trying to act like it’s totally chill to wear it out on a first date with strappy sandals and a ribbed tank mini dress underneath.

Listen, there are just so many reasons why I love it. First of all, it has a high rating. You think I’m just gonna drop $40 on a low-quality flame-emblazoned shirt? NO. One Amazon five-star review reads,

It fits. It worked as expected.

PHENOMENAL. Another rave review reads,

Good buy. My son got this to wear as a Halloween costume, but has worn it as a daily shirt.

Looking back, this may be the review that inspired me.

Another reason why I love it so much is for the sheer fact that I could honestly just go as Guy Fieri for Halloween every year, henceforth—thus, really getting the most out of its cost per wear. Last year, I went as Hot Guy Fieri (I wore the shirt open and tied at the waist with a bra underneath). And this year, I went as Goth Guy Fieri (I wore the shirt open, again, and layered it over a mesh long-sleeve top and a corset with loads of eyeliner; it was phenoms).

Perhaps the scenario in which this flames shirt shines the most is when it’s worn as a bikini cover-up (you know, aside from when it’s worn by Guy Fieri, himself). Sizzling!
