Federico Castelluccio looks unrecognizable from his clean-shaven, long-haired hitman Furio at the 25th anniversary of The Sopranos in NYC

Federico Castelluccio looked unrecognizable from his clean-shaven, long-haired hitman character Furio Giunta while attending the 25th anniversary celebration of The Sopranos in Manhattan on Wednesday.

The 59-year-old painter-actor-director looked dapper wearing a black coat over a blue blazer, patterned scarf, black slacks, and matching Oxfords during the red carpet festivities for the HBO hit.

Federico portrayed one of New Jersey gangster Tony Soprano's (James Gandolfini) most feared enforcers as well as his bodyguard/driver in 28 episodes over three seasons spanning 2000-2002 of David Chase's crime drama.

However, Furio developed an intense mutual attraction to Tony's wife Carmela (Edie Falco), which created significant sexual tension between them.

Giunta wisely never acted on his feelings and instead moved back to Sicily without notice - devastating Carmela.

'They did have a sale at the end of the show, so they gave us some clothes and some we actually bought,' Castelluccio told Page Six in 2020 at a SopranosCon event.

'So I do actually still wear the clothes. This black leather jacket I'm wearing was in a brothel scene, and it still has the blood splatters that stained the jacket on the inside lining.'

The Naples-born, New Jersey-raised star said his greatest on-set memory was appearing in his first episode titled 'Big Girls Don't Cry.'

'[There was] a moment where I felt my character was proving himself to the Soprano family and Tony Soprano,' Federico noted.

Castelluccio was joined at The Sopranos' 25th anniversary celebration by his wife of 12 years, Yvonne Maria Schäfer.

The two-time SAG Award nominee also posed with his former co-star Steve Schirripa, who famously played Tony's brother-in-law Bobby Baccalieri.

Federico - who commands $100 on Cameo - will next portray Senator Bodio in Alejandro Monteverde's Francesca Cabrini biopic Cabrini, which is scheduled to hit US theaters on March 8.

Castelluccio last made headlines in 2014 when he discovered a mislabeled 17th-century painting by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, and bought it for $68K (considering it's now estimated to be worth $10M).

The Sopranos aired on HBO for six seasons spanning 1999-2007 and won a Peabody Award, 21 Emmy Awards, and five Golden Globe Awards.

The critically-acclaimed fan favorite also spawned Alan Taylor's 2021 prequel The Many Saints of Newark starring Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini.
