Coming to an end: Series regular Rondie Reed, 63, who played Peggy on the show, announced the series' cancellation.
The actress explained that there would now only be a shortened season of 13 episodes rather than the full 22-episode season originally announced back in March.
'We are done taping as of January 27th 2016 and I am not sure exactly when/if the episodes will all be aired,' she explained.
Reid said she had no interest in supporting a campaign to prevent the cancellation.
'The network has it's reasons, and I will not get into a debate, discussion, or campaign to get them to change their minds. Other venues were explored by WB and Bonanza Productions (Chuck Lorre) after CBS announced their intentions, but did not turn up a future for our show.
'It is a fact and we have known for a few weeks.'

However despite her acceptance of the situation, Reid said she was 'grateful' to have worked on the show and called the team behind it 'fabulous'.
'I have learned a lot about many things, including the Business we call Show.
'Also grateful for all the fans and for the personal support I have received over the (almost) 6 seasons.'
Last goodbyes: In a lengthy post on Wednesday, co-star Ronnie Reed went into great detail about the show's end. This photo was taken of the cast on December 11
And she finished her long message by thanking her management team.
The Chuck Lorre-produced comedy centers around Mike Biggs and Molly Flynn, a pair of overweight individuals who become a couple after meeting at a weight-battle support group.
Identity Thief's Melissa McCarthy, 45, starred as Molly while Billy Gardell took on the role of Mike.

Series star Melissa McCarthy has often been busy with projects outside the series. The mother of two has filmed several comedic movies throughout her time on the show including Spy,Tammy and The Heat with Sandra Bullock.
The actress is set to join Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth and Bill Murray in the much-anticipated Sci-Fi comedy, Ghostbusters, in theaters next July.
She's set to join husband Ben Falcone in the film, Cook-off, and Kristen Bell for the flick, The Boss.
