Filet mignon is one of those fancy foods you probably only eat on special occasions. That's because by "fancy," most menus really mean bright, flashing dollar signs. But the sticker shock will completely subside tomorrow, when you can score filet mignon for $1. No, there's no catch. Seriously, we checked.

To celebrate National Filet Mignon Day on Thursday, August 13, Morton's Steakhouse will be doling out petite sandwiches, also known as sliders, layered with filet mignon for just a buck at participating locations nationwide. The dirt cheap deal is good all day long at the bar, where you can ask for a cold one to wash it all down. But there is one caveat: You'll be limited to 12 sandwiches. Not that you could stuff yourself with that many—or could you?

The juicy steak slices are sandwiched between two buttery, sesame seed buns, then topped with baby lettuce and mustard mayo. And it looks as insanely delicious as it sounds. If you can't find a Morton's location near you, make your own sliders with our best steak marinades and grilling hacks. Or screw filet day altogether and dig into a pile of hearty but easy-as-hell ribs.
