Bare trees reveal their true selves

Without any leaves, trees can really express themselves.

Trees get plenty of attention in the fall, when their leaves turn red, orange and yellow.

I'm here to say that foliage is overrated. A tree’s beauty comes from what’s underneath.

I have plenty of reasons why I like hiking in any season but summer. Right up there is the ability to see the trees for the forest.

The sturdiness of the trunk, the pattern of the bark, the grace of the branches.

I’d bet any architect would love to design a structure as magnificent as a tree. But that patent already has been claimed.

While a shady tree is nice on a hot day, the leaves are a disguise -- nature’s fake Groucho nose, eyebrows and glasses.

Here are the real deal in all their God-given glory.
