Jack White makes an appearance in West Des Moines this summer.

The gritty sounds of singer-songwriter Jack White head to the Val Air Ballroom, 301 Ashworth Road, in West Des Moines this summer at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14 as part of his The Supply Chain Issues Tour. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m.

The same day tickets for White's show go on sale, the garage-rock artist releases his latest album, "Fear of the Dawn," which includes the song "Taking Me Back," released as a single late last year. It's also the day White kicks off this latest tour in his hometown of Detroit.

This July, White plans to release another album titled "Entering Heaven Alive."

White first gained notoriety as a member of the duo The White Stripes with his ex-wife and drummer Meg White. The pair fused punk and folk music, producing hits like "Seven Nation Army" and "Fell In Love With a Girl." Outside of The White Stripes, White has released pieces like "Love Interrupted" and "Lazaretto."

Across decades of performance, the Michigan-born musician has achieved a variety of accolades including 12 Grammy Awards. White also worked with Alicia Keys on "Another Way to Die" for "Quantum of Solace," making the pair the first duet to perform a James Bond theme song.

Joining White that evening will be indie-rock artist Ezra Furman, whose latest album, "Twelves Nudes" was released in 2019. She's also done music for the Netflix series "Sex Education."

Before appearing at the Val Air Ballroom with White, Furman will perform at Gas Lamp — 1501 Grand Ave. — at 7 p.m. on May 30. Tickets for that engagement are $20 in advance or $22 the day of the show.

Tickets for the August Jack White show start at $52.50 for general admission and can be purchased through valairdsm.com.
